Adriatic

A trio of distinct but aesthetically related residential towers near the intersection of Islington Avenue and Highway 401 create a cohesive whole, adding context-appropriate density in North Etobicoke.

Project
Description

Our new residential development project for BV Realty Partners sits at the northeast corner of Islington Avenue and Lemsford Road in Toronto’s Kingsview Village. Flanked by a golf course to the east, a rail corridor to the north, commercial amenities to the west, and a residential neighbourhood to the south and southwest, the site is proximate to transit, major arteries, and green space, making it an ideal location for densification and new dedicated parkland.

Comprising three 22-storey towers and a total of 949 units, Adriatic extends the language of the existing apartment buildings along the east side of Islington, which gradually step up in height as they approach Highway 401. The three structures share common design elements — the materials and geometries take their cues from the surrounding context — yet achieve diversity in form. With staggered volumes and stretched hexagonal and octagonal floorplates, the buildings taper and shift to open up views and space between the buildings. This dynamic development at Adriatic Road provides a visual anchor for the community and will help invigorate the surrounding neighbourhood.
